about us
Our team
We are a dynamic international team with a mission to integrate glass with water to turn windows from a liability to an asset for energy consumption, thermal comfort and acoustics in buildings.
Our vision is to use water-filled glass (WFG) technology to enable people to have more access to daylight and clear view without any compromise to user and environment, regardless of building or climate.
Our vision is to make water-filled glass (WFG) technology accessible worldwide, granting people abundant daylight and unobstructed views without compromising user experience or the environment. Collaborating with construction companies, glass factories, and engineering firms, we're spreading WFG's influence in all climates, contributing to better living conditions and a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Committed to our carbon goals, we diligently track projects, addressing operational and embedded carbon impacts, while championing WFG, a low-carbon, recyclable innovation that seamlessly merges glass with water.
Currently, our clients in the US and Europe are implementing WFG in both newbuild and retrofit projects."
Dr Matyas Gutai
/Founder/
Matyas is an architect, academic, entrepreneur, and developer of Water-filled Glass (WFG) technology. He has an architecture and engineering background and graduated from Budapest Technical University (March) and the University of Tokyo (MEng and PhD). Matyas has international architecture experience and worked for offices in Japan (Shigeru Ban Architects, Arata Isozaki Architects), Portugal (Alvaro Siza), and Hungary (Zoboki Demeter Associates, Balazs Mihaly Architects, Puhl Antal Architects) before starting his PhD on WFG. After he defended his PhD in 2010, he has been researching the concept of WFG for over a decade. Since then, Matyas designed and built two prototype buildings with WFG technology (Water House 1.0 and Water House 2.0), conducted long-term monitoring on the buildings, and developed an energy model for WFG with Fazel. Matyas founded Water-filled Glass together with Fazel and Daniel and is currently focusing on the strategic development of the startup..
Fazel Ganji Kheybari:
/Co-founder/
Having a background in Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Building Physics, Abolfazl merges his competencies to develop innovative solutions for healthy and comfortable buildings. During his postdoc at the Built Environment Department of TU Kaiserslautern, he was involved in innovative projects applying advanced simulation and optimization techniques in the design and automation of dynamic façade and complex fenestration systems. His experience in the Living Lab Smart Office Space brings his insights about glare, daylight, and thermal comfort into reality by providing new data-driven models and tools. He is also a well-accredited professional and a DGNB International Consultant, ensuring health and well-being in buildings alongside high performance and energy savings.
Daniel Gabor Schinagl
/Co-founder/
Daniel is a Project Manager and a licensed architect with a pivotal role in the research and development of WFG since 2015. He holds degrees from London South Bank University (BArch) and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (MArch). Daniel's work has been recognized with the RIBA Bronze Medal with Commendation, the SOM Award, and the Sergeant Award. He has worked as an architect at Henn Architects (Berlin) and Dyer's Architects (London-Budapest) and as a Project Manager at Forestay Group (Budapest). Between 2015-2020, Daniel collaborated closely with WFG's industrial partners, including glass factories and facade builders, to finalize the technology's product development. Since 2021, he has served as the Lead Project Manager at the firm, overseeing WFG projects on a global scale.
